9 Signs of Spiritual Maturity - Faithfulness

Some people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them," I said.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NCV)9 So know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes for people who love him and obey his commands.

 

Faithfulness is basically the ability to be trusted. It is the cornerstone of the character of a person. . It is a matter of developing an invisible quality, a certain style and character of doing things. Old sayings like my mom and dad's generation of "Doing what you say" "Say what you mean and mean what you say" Faithfulness radiates from the heart. We grow faithfulness in our relationships by being faithful to what you say, to our friends in good times and bad, to our children (all ages) and to our spouse/partner. Faithfulness involves self-control and discipline. Do we really want to be in any kind of relationship with someone who is unpredictable and unfaithful?

Faithfulness is not based on EMOTIONS but on PRINCIPLES. Always remember this: Relationships and decisions that are based on emotions rather than principles are not substantial. In this world of "doing what feels good", or "I don't know what happened we grew apart" its so DIFFICULT to not buy into the emotions of wanting to FEEL BETTER by making a decision to be unfaithful. We are all human and God knows this all too well. He knows we have made mistakes and will continue making them. However, he wants us to strive to be a reflection of Him.

In my opinion, the true example of faithfulness is God's promises to us. I truly believe that through the storms of lfe, he will be there for us, he will have a lesson for us to learn and it will help us grow. Do you think that God wants us to mirror HiS faithfulness by being faithful to others - through the storms and the pleasant times? TALL ORDER isn't it?:) " Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him." (James1:12)

 

 

FATHER GOD - WE FACE SO MANY TEMPTATIONS AND TRIALS THAT TEST OUR FAITHFULNESS TO YOU, OUR FRIENDS, OUR FAMILY AND OUR MARRIAGES. REMIND US OF YOUR FAITHFULNESS AS AN EXAMPLE TO STRIVE FOR. THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS IN DELIVERING YOUR PROMISES AND LOVING US NO MATTER WHAT. AMEN.
